This forum is under construction. While I finish it, I leave some useful links:
If you have Vista and you are unhappy with Directx 10 you always can come back to Directx 9c The version of Win Xp. before of to do nothing please be ready because once is installed is very difficult to uninstall and may crash your system. So you will need something like Directx Happy uninstaller, http://www.superfoxs.com/ or http://downloads.phpnuke.org/en/download-item-view-g-m-z-g-y/DIRECTX%2BUNINSTALLER.htm or something similar but specific. Install it first and later download Directx 9c from Microsoft.com that came in two flavors: Redistributable: Full instalation without need of internet connection, and End-User runtime: Installation by internet connection.
This link is very useful too:
http://downloads.phpnuke.org/en/?q=directx+9c
And also you will need a Directx changer if you want to come back to Directx 10 in time to time:

And http://kms-system.com/ the website of the creators of the Directx changer.
